Who Are The Anunnaki ? | The Alien Gods Who Ruled Ancient Sumerian

 

What comes to mind when you consider prehistoric societies? You may consider the Romans. Maybe Maya comes to mind. Maybe the Australian aboriginal population comes to mind. The Sumerians are today's Wonder of the Day, another outstanding ancient culture.

Ancient Sumer was a conglomeration of city-states located in Mesopotamia. The Sumerians developed writing, mathematics, and military. Their texts also educate modern readers about Sumerian civilization.  Between 4100 until about 1750 B.C., the Sumerian civilization flourished. "Sumer" was named after the "land of the civilized kings." One of the earliest civilizations to split time into hours and minutes was Sumer. They also practiced a sophisticated religion centered around gods known as the Anunnaki.

The Anunnaki were thought to be in command of the destiny of the Sumerians. The Anunnaki were frequently depicted as passing judgment on people in stories. The gods were sometimes referred to be the offspring of the Earth and the sky. Similar to how they see the Greek gods, the majority of people consider these tales to be myths.   Others, though, ponder whether the tale has more to it.

Some academics think the Anunnaki might have actually existed. They may have come from another planet, according to a common hypothesis. Many people hold the view that they originated from the enigmatic Planet X, which they claim came very close to Earth thousands of years ago.

Why would aliens visit Earth and assume the role of gods? Of course, to subjugate the human race! According to proponents of this hypothesis, the Anunnaki made the Sumerians mine gold for them. The Anunnaki then made their way back to Planet X after they got what they required. 

Some claim the Anunnaki were a species of reptile humanoids. They contend that these reptiles contributed to the Sumerians' development of their mathematical and writing systems. They also believe that the reptiles still exist now and have influence over people.

The Anunnaki—were they real? Or were they fictitious deities? We'll let you make that decision on your own. But one thing is certain: people are still fascinated by these old Sumerian gods.
